However, panacure is safe enough for a prophylactic treatment which is quite common. Common dosages are 100 mg/kg, but panacure has been effective at lower dosages of 25 mg/kg. Treatment should occur two weeks apart from each other with a possible third treatment determined by the presence of parasites. Sometimes only one treatment is necessary. I am not aware of any contraindications of panacure specifically in Amphibians. The problem is administering the treatment and restraining the amphibian. This should only be done while wearing wet rubber gloves, and I have even used NovAqua to lubricate the gloves. | ||
