Out of the 4 adult beardies (1 female, 3 males) that I have only the female is calm enough to sit on my shoulder for a car ride to the pet store or a stroll through the park on a sunny day. The others freak out if a bird or airplane flys over head and they duck for cover. I don't think it's related to gender though. It's just the luck of the draw. I also think that taking the beardie outside as much as possible will help too.
