Well as long as its not in direct contact with it or at least about 8 inches away you should be fine. If it does melt, it will do so in the first night or day and I'm sure you'll run the enclosure before you get the gecko. I just know because we had some beardeds in a plexi tank and a heatlight through the hole on top. Somebody wanted to take one out so they put the light RIGHT on the plexi and it melted. This happened 3 times. I think its ok if its within close proximity though.
