I own several Vision Cages & Melamine. With the Vision cages the key to heating for snakes is 50w or 75w basking light only in a ceramic dome with that rating, belly heat is accomplished with Flex Watt Heat Tape attached to a dimmer (Rheostate). Flex Watt can be attached with a Foil tape designed for this. The Bean Farm, Big Apple, and other Vision cage retailers can give you more advise on the heating products appropriate for use with this product. The more research from different sources the better. For Ball Pythons & Colubrids I use a digital thermometer on the Flex Watt Heat Tape and set Dimmer to 82f-85f only. This is equavault to body heat, and I have never melted any cage. I would recommend the use of 2 x4's when stacked as the heat from each light shroud makes the next level hot.
