From my personal experiences, they never really calm down. They have very sensitive skin too so its not a good handling gecko. However, I have heard cases where they will come lick baby food off your finger and wont really get scared when you open the cage, but not many where they are handleable. You can expect to pay around 50$ at a petshop, and around half that at a reptile show or breeder. The book can be found here: http://www.zoobooksales.com/ under the name of "GECKOS, ALL SPECIES IN ONE BOOK: PROFESSIONAL BREEDERS SERIES" by
Henkel, F.W. and W. Schmidt. Well worth the 40$ in my opinion. I also posted a list above that I'm personally looking for, if I dont get many answers, I may resort to scanning in pictures from the book so you might get a peek too.
