During this period they tend to sleep alot, avoid the heat and lose their appetites. They will sometimes "wake up" for a week or two and behave normally only to go back to sleep for another month. It can be a frightening and confusing time for owners. The various bearded dragon forums are filled with the topic every fall. Dr. Kathryn Tosney from the University of Michigan maintains an excellent site on beardeds and has compiled information on brumation from one of those groups. | ||
