The difference between Black and White?

OK, so I know the taxonomic and geographic differences in Blackthroats and Whitethroats but I have noticed in the classifed sections alot of people offering "true whitethroats" and alot of Blackthroat adds. What is the difference? Some of the adds for true whitethroats have pics of the monitors with black coloration on the throat! How can a person be sure that he is getting a true whitethroat and not just a nice example of a blackthroat? What is the trait or characteristic that will separate the two species?
