Thanks for everyone's advice, I found a vet and he went for his visit this morning. I'm just curious to hear everyone's thoughts on what I was told.

After opening the box upon arrival the "growth" was gone! There was a bit of blood on his lip and the growth was on the floor of the box. The vet looked at it and said he thinks it was more or less just a scab. He cleaned the blood off and noticed a little white thing sticking out of his mouth, sort of like a splinter. He used his tweezers and removed it. It turned out to be a whole section of his teeth! It was about 1/2 an inch long and came out of his mouth very easily. More blood ensued, but not a huge amount, and then he cortorized the bloody area.

He said this is normal, that lizards will shed their teeth. I've never heard of this, but thats why I'm not the vet! He said when the row started coming out that it probably cut him in the front of his mouth causing the growth. When the growth fell off the tooth was now visible.

I'll constatntly monitor him now for blood, activity and eating habits. But has anyone seen this before or can offer some advice?

Thanks!

-Jim
