Treating and support methods to see dragon through coccidia treatments

7-10 days straight is a common used method for dragons with slightly elevated coccidia loads that have not been treated before.



Other's prescribed routines:



3 days on 3 days off over 2-3 weeks or

3 days straight and alternating days for 2 weeks



It depends on the coccidia load, age and general health of the dragon.



Below is a link to a routine for support during treatment that we used and changed some to suit bearded dragons that was recommended by Roger Klingerberg to treat high resistant coccidia. We have also have used this support and cleaning methods alone to allow the dragons own immune system to handle lowering or ridding the dragon of coccidia.



IMO, the cleaning routine is key to ridding them the first round and preventing re-infection in the future. We now use this method on all the rehab dragons we get in and all of them no matter what age have come through treatment with little problems, even ones weighing less than yours.
