Posted by: BigFil at Tue Nov 4 16:03:15 2003 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by BigFil ] I've been using the Zoomed basking bulbs since they seem to put out more heat than the same wattage of other reptile brand name bulbs, but I would like to find something comparable in heat output/wattage of the zoomeds, just cheaper. I've tried to go the cheap route by going to walmart or yardbirds and picking up lights there, but I end up spending more money trying to get the temps to where I had them with the zoomed ones than if I were to just buy the zoomed ones. Like you said though they are fragile if you drop or bang the hood. Would a GE halogen bulb put out about the same amount of heat at the same distance in the same wattage bulb? | ||
