male dragon got really dark in color in the last 24 hours help?

I just noticed this afternoon that my male dragon got alot darker in color. I dont know if it is caused from being sick or what? also i wanted to know about brumation. How do you know the diffrence if the dragon wants to go into brumation or if he is hideing because of sickness? I noticed that my male will hide most of the day and come out more at night and also only eats at night like a few hours before the light turn off. is this ok.
