Gravid means pregnant in latin. Also it is a well used medical term in labor and delivery... ... of humans.



An example: You can see this in any Labor and Delivery Suite of ANY hospital in America.Just look at the board behind the nurses station.If a woman has been pregnant 3 times and has only given birth one time she is considered a Gravida 3 Para 1.

If she has been pregnant 4 times and has given birth 4 times then she is a GRAVIDA 4 para 4.

So the word GRAVIDA is talking about humans not reptiles in the hospital.
