you need to make sure that the eyecap was actually not shed and it isn't just a wrinkled eyecap. If you still have the shed go through it until you find the head. Examine it to see if there are 2 caps or not.
I actually thought my female had a retained cap but opted to leave it alone. Out of curiosity I examined the next shed and discovered she was shedding them after all. Some say a wrinkled cap is due to not enough humidity but humidity changes don't seem to affect the wrinkled cap. Perhaps it was an injurt or something when she was younger.
