You said 1x1 studs? That is awfully small lumber for the frame of a 6ft cage. Even if you meant 1x2.. still small. Although, the wood sides will make the cage rigid. You could use 2x2s with dowel connectors. You'll need a dowling jig and some skill..
You know, a 6ft cage is huge for a corn. How about a 4ftx2ftx2ft cage just made from plywood and no frame? Easier, plenty of room. Or better yet, get a cage from www.herpcages.com or PrecisionCaging.com or Boaphile.com or Neodesha Plastics and put it on top of the one you built.
