For those of you that did not go to the NARBC Reptile Show in Philadelphia this weekend...you missed a good time! I believe the show is tommorrow as well so you still have a chance to make it!

First, Mark O'Shea is a really nice guy. He signed my new book (Guide to Snakes of New Guinea)along with an issue of Reptiles Magazine that featured him. Usually I am not one for autographs but he was cool and I have h.s. bio students who think he's awesome. My friend snapped a quick photo of us and O'Shea did not charge a dime (although I am sure he was well paid for his appearance).

Ok, so the show was a little more expensive than most local reptile shows (13$ w/coupon) BUT they gave away free t-shirts at the door. Also, top breeders from all over the country were there. No major worries about quality at this show. I met a few people that I ordered from online, like LLL Reptile, etc etc. I picked up a pair of gry banded kingsnakes from Glades Herp that I am excited about (and will be happier once they get their first meal in them). They are my first king snakes.

Kathy Love was there with some of the most beautiful corns.

She is a nice, pleasant person and I really had to restrain myself from buying another corn from her (11 corns in my collection is enough for now)>LOL. I have corns from just about everyone BUT her...although Rick's Exotic Pets sold me an awesome Okeetee from her line earlier this year.

Finally, I opted for a photo with Bubba the crocodile. VERY INTIMIDATING. My friend tried taking a pic of Bubba and I but my digi camera suddenly froze up. So I paid to have Bubba's owners take one. They said to come back after 10-15 minutes while it prints out...NO PROB right? WRONG... The pic didn't turn out so they said to grab hold of him again...? I did it for a second photo BUT that one didn't turn out either...IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE. My friend kept freaking out saying, "remember sigfreid & roy's tigers" LOL....I was such a baby about placing my head 1 inch from a large crocs head. I said forget a 3rd time...3 strikes and I was out of there...they refunded me and gave me the fuzzy photo to laugh about for years to come. I really don't understand how BUBBA is so calm....It simply amazes me.... They claim no tricks (no wired jaw or sedatives or anything). Though they got really really nervous when someone pulled on Bubba's tail.

Besides everything else I mentioned, most dealers had very high priced morphs that us commoners dream about. So many BP morphs in the thousands. I simply do not understand how people afford these animals. But no question that they are beauties.

ANYONE ELSE HAVE GOOD STORIES from the show yet?
