Hi,
I keep my guys on parakeet seed (only small seeds, mainly millet) and it works great. Isn't dusty, looks nice, cheap to buy, and they snack on it throughout the day. It is only $3 a bag at walmart (my 4.5' cage takes about 6 or 7 bags). I think it's the safest way to go since uros are fed seed anyways, so if they ingest it by accident (or on purpose) it is deffinitely digestible I heard washed playsand works fine too (I use it for my tortoise with no problems) but don't buy like calci sand from the pet store - $8 for a small little bag, which can be harmful. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get playsand, or any millet seed (parakeet or wild bird) will do. Hope this helps
