i spent my morning rehooking up my mister and looking for a new ficus and we are now ready to go...just waiting on the chameleon. LOL!
the ficus i had was a verigated ficus and in repotting it and washing it i put it into shock pretty bad. we got a benjamini ficus that is a little more bushy and WAS about 3 inches to big...hack hack hack....i trimmed it down to fit the cage. after that i added a dose of vitamin B just in case.
next i moved to the misting system. i cut all the zip ties and positioned the nozzle whee i wanted it over the plant and then cut a small hole in the top of the cage to poke the tip though. i had the nozzle just resting on top and misting though the mesh. although it worked i kept think there has got to be a better way(thanks john!). it works ALOT better now! more directional.
now i just have to wait PATIENTLY for my new "toy" i know it's not a toy. i know better then that so don't beat me down.) kamerflage kreations said the end of may so i'm guessing in the next week? i've been to the local reptile store every week since just to look around. i'm dying to buy some crickets but i know i gotta wait it out.
my other ficus, if it lives, i will use in an outside cage. i'm going to wait though and when our chameleon out grows the current cage i will use it for outside and get a bigger on for inside.
i'm rambling i know!
