Posted by: Blackwater at Wed Nov 19 17:04:09 2003 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Blackwater ] I don't know what the rest of the world does, but I wash mine in the washing machine with "regular" clothes detergent on a "regular" cycle in the machine. I do not use fabric softener and I make sure the soap is rinsed out of the bags thoroughly before I use them again. Many of my "bags" aren't anything more than pillow cases to begin with, so shrinkage associated with muslin bags isn't a worry either... I will add this... I ALWAYS inspect the bags very carefully after a trip through the washing machine, as it appears to be the most likely place where they're weaknessness will manifest themselves... holes in bags is bad ju-ju and I've had several that had to be retired after a wash cycle.... For particularly soiled bags (ones in which the resident felt it was necessary to defecate in transit) I generally invert and scrub them in the (workshop) sink prior to putting them in the wash to get as much of the soiling out before putting them in the machine... | ||
