(i) snakes often inject little venom when biting, so that most bites are either dry, or show only minimal envenoming



(ii) Vitamin C is rekarkably non-toxic even at high doses.



Since alternative practitioners would probably make exactly the same claims about homeopathic remedies that are so dilute as to contain none of the supposedly active ingredients (but their memory is imprinted in the water, so that's OK... yeah right!), I would treat any claims of this nature with extreme skepticism, not to say cynicism, unless they have been performed within the framework of a rigorous scientific study.
