>>I was given a mature Mali, I think a male, but keep forgetting to check underneath! He seems in good health, but his tail is lacking most of its spines! He has smooth whorls with a couple of spikes here and there, but not much. I assume he was wild caught, but has been in captivity for a while, he is very tame. He still has his toes, though some of the nails are deformed, especially on just one side.
>>Any theories on what could have happened to his tail?
>>I'll post pics this weekend, when I can catch him awake! By the time I get home from work he is sleeping and won't come out for anything! I don't want to upset him too much so soon!
>>Thanks!

I'm still very much a newbie, but from what I've heard on these forums, missing tail spines is a sign of tail rot. Sorry.
