I have thought of the same concerns you would have with cel-sorb. I decided to use it anyway. If you drop it in water it breaks up very easily. It actually has made spot cleaning easier for me, because it clumps. They do ingest by accident once in a while and seem to have no problem with it. I would think it is close to impossible for this product to cause impaction, I feel the same way about sand, which I raise my babies on. More often than not a case of impaction is caused by something lacking in other aspects of husbandy such as temps. and hydration, rather than the substrate the animal is kept on.
