My reticulated python died (from IBD) in the spring of this year. Thanks to my love of biology and my desire to do something other than shove my beloved pet into a hole in the ground I did what any other good biologist would do, I skinned her, tanned her hide and fed the rest of her to a colony of dermestid beetles. Now I have a problem. I tried to pay attention to how things were arranged but managed to lose track of where a few things go. I have all the ribs and vertebrae in order but now I am left with a pile of little skull bones (she was only about 13ft, so these bones are not huge). I have found a few websites with nice drawings of skulls but I am stuck at this point. As tempting as it is to just start gluing things anyplace I think they might fit(and throwing out those bones that don't seem to go anyplace...)I would like to do this right. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good books or websites that illustrate where all these crazy little bones should go. I appreciate any help you can give me. If you know anything yourself about snake anatomy I will gladly send you pictures of what I have together so far and what I have left over. Thanks!
