The shape of their body can also change, depending on what kind of posture they have.
I have a six month old panther, and she is probably the size your's are, or will be ( are they full grown?). Sometimes she has her "I'm a stick" pose while she is hunting. She gets longer and seems to be sucking her tummy up, and she looks wider from a birds eye view. Her ribs show a bit then. Other times she is just "chilling" and is skinnier from a birds eye view, and is not as long, and is wider from back to stomach, almost like a half circle, or moon shape. When she is like this her ribs don't show.
They will also show a bit when a cham reaches for a branch or something like that.
