My son's Corn snake recently performed a classic Houdini routine on us. The 2' fellow contorted his body thin enough to slip out through the dual panes of sliding glass fronting a Vision cage..... now, the search is on.....



You might ask, How do I know that he made his great escape via that route.... Well, I had read that this was possible, and had seen him try, unsuccessfully in the past, so I inserted a folded piece of paper wedged tightly between the two panes (or so I thought). This morning, the paper was pushed out at the top, and no more Coral Corn to be found.....



Of course, this is the time in the post where I ask for help...... thoughts.... tricks........ related to recapturing him.......



I was talking to a friend at one of the local reptile stores about the problem with Vision cages and that this two footer was able to make the squeeze play pay off... he had a novel suggestion....... and since feeding day at the ranch is tomorrow, I look forward to trying it out....



The trick, or so he says, it to take a larger plastic bottle of water, one with a cap that is large enough to effectively cut..... empty the water and dry the inside of the bottle, place a mouse inside, cut a bit more then a semi circle around the top of the cap, enough that it can be easily bent inside, but not back out.... the effect, the snake can get easily in, but not out......
