Color changing ball?

Ok a quick question for all of you way more experianced ball owners. My girlfriend bought a ball a few weeks ago, a high yellow normal. It just shed and now there are spots of pure white along the back that were not there, and along its sides in a few places that were yellow/green befor the shed are now black and grey. Is this jsut cause it jsut shed and it will regain its color or basically what is going on, i can get pics up if that will help i dont have any befor pics though.
