regular light bulb VS reptile heat bulb

I've used both, and as long as I acheive the same temps in the cage, what is the difference besides price? Are there any major benifits to buying the heat bulbs made specifically for reptiles? I do have a UV light as well so I'm just talking about heat lights here.
