You can rub the rat with a mouse (or mouse cage shavings) OR you can be really brave and do what my hubby has been doing lately and feeding a small mouse to get her started and then follow it with a f/t rat. When she gets down to the tail of the mouse ease the rats nose in right after it. She'll just think it's a really long mouse. This might also get her used to the taste/smell of the rat. Some shyer snakes won't like this hands on approach, but several of our breeder females are getting this treatment right now and don't mind at all. | ||
