A regular high speed steel HSS drill bit will work fine. What's more important is the speed at which you drill and the type of drill your using. A drill press at slower speeds will work best. You will want some type of cutting fluid to keep the bit cool, especially if you're cutting thicker than 1/8" aluminum.



If you' re having to use a hand held drill you might want to pick up a couple extra bits. It's real easy to tweak a bit in a drill hole and snap it off. Again, the thicker your material the more likely this will happen.
