FINALLLLLLLY!



It is five feet high, with two sides completely screen, two sides lexan sheets, and the top and bottom each screen.

There is a one foot open area under the cage, to allow for water drainage, and air circulation. The frame is wood, sealed with ...ummmm....I don't know.



You know those plastic trays that bread is brought to the grocery store on? Well, that's what my dad used as the re-inforcement on the bottom, to hold the weight of plants, and then used screen over top of that, to keep the crix in.



Up the center of the cage, he put in a pole, with a shelf on two sides, two wooden lizard ladders running the length of the column, and then on the opposite sides of the shelves, he made built in tree branches that fan out from near the top of the pole...the real neat thing, is the WHOLE center pole turns! So if I need to get to Zoe, I don't have to climb practically inside the cage...I just turn the pole...and there he is. Also I have put a deli container on one of his shelves held in place by a nylon tie, the ability to turn the pole makes it super easy to clean out the crix he doesn't eat (which are all of them)

Plus when he's outside in the cage, it allows us to turn his resting areas so that one is in the cooler area, and one is in the warmer area, rather than having to move the entire cage.

He has tons of real plants in with him, and a few fake ones to.



So far he seems okay with the move. He has not shown any stress colours, and is drinking the water that drips on his nose.

No...still not eating on his own...only what I feed him. I think that is just the way it is now. I don't ever expect him to eat on his own again. If he does, GREAT...but if not...I've accepted that. Maybe he sees the crickets as his PETS!!! You know...there he is in his enclosure, in my house, with HIS pets in their enclosure in his house. I bet that's it! he can't eat them because he's formed an emotional bond with them!



I'd love to be able to go to one of the Port Credit Pet expos in July or September...and I'd grab him some silkies. Having no transportation sucks large. Grrrrrrrr.

oh well...



I'm just thrilled with Zoe's new cage. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
