Passing to offspring

I know that ticks sometimes hide in the cracks between the eggs in a clutch in an attempt to jump to the new generation. I'm hoping that most parasites and diseases would not be able to pass to the eggs but I really don't know for sure.



Apparently one of the insidious things about IBD in boas is that it can be passed to the offspring and breeding partners but perhaps eggs will give pythons a little protection. Not that IBD will be much of a problem in ball pythons since they should all die rather quickly, probably before they could breed, unlike in boas. Just using it as an example. I've been reading a little about "burm disease" and since they can't seem to agree if it even exists I don't suppose they know if it gets passed through eggs or if it is just caught later from other animals in the same collection.
