I have seen 2 calicos, both females. Both captured around 10ft and both have been kept in vivariums with access to lighting. In the space of 2 years they have become almost completely normal. There is still speckling, and an oddity about the pattern. I also know someone else with a calico female, about 10ft, this has always been in a dark vivarium and has kept all its colour.
That is all I know, but would certainly like to know more. Has anyone in the States had theirs go dark? If not, are the vivariums dark or do they have access to light? Is anyone even willing to test it? Put a light tube in the tank and see if it darkens withing the next few months??
