Hey all,
One of my geckos layed a pair of eggs today and caught me by surprise. I bought her along with a firend of her's during the first week of November. She is a high yellow and was exposed to a Las Vegas Albino for a few days before I purchased her. Once I brought the two ladies back to my house, I let them get used to their new home for a week. Once they were settled in, I let them meet my blizzard male for a few days. I only left him in there for a few days before putting him back in his cage. When you see the geckos every day, the slight increase of size isn't too recognizable.
However, today she lays the eggs! I am new to the breeding area of leopard geckos. I have the eggs currently in an incubator set at 82 degrees, in order to get predominantly females. I have read that females can lay 8 clutches from one interaction with a male. Am I understanding this right???? Also, my lady needs to bulk back up if she isn't finished laying eggs. I feed her and her cage mate about 8 calcium coated crickets every other day. Are there any tricks to getting her ready for another clutch??? How long does it take the eggs to hatch from the incubator??? I am sorry so many questions, but I have been panicing as far as whether I was doing everything correctly.
I guess the next step is to call Maury to arrange a paternity test on the babies to see who the father of the eggs is!
