Question on taking pictures.

When you guys take pictures of your leos, do you ever use the flash? I assumed the flash may be bad for leos eyes since they are nocturnal. However, I can never seem to get the lighting right to take decent pictures of Jak, but maybe that's because I haven't been using the flash. Any other tips for taking better pics would be much appreciated too. Thanks
