Alergic reactions

How common are allergic reactions to snake bites?

Are these reactions species specific?



I've been bitten by hognoses and stung by many inverts without any allergic reactions worsening the venoms' effects. Should it follow to suit that I not be allergic to rattlesnake bites? Obviously Im still expecting to be in bad shape after a bite, but with the common advice that I be prepared for a bite, I just want to know bad it could get.
