how are you measuring the temp of the substrate in the hut? Do you have a digital thermometer? Are you placing it directly on the substrate or did you just stick one of those analogue's to the side of the tank?



I had the same thing happen to me and all it was, was things were too hot...



in response to a stressed snake. I LOVE IT when mine come out and "bask". If the snake has been in that setup for a while he/she probably is very comfortable with his/her surroundings and is not stressed by "basking" out in the open. Sometimes mine also come out from hide when they are hungry.



As long as it/he/she is eating, pooping and shedding perfectly, no worries.
