Caresheets tend to be written by one person...and reflect their experiences. They may not have faced your particular problem and there could be subtle things different about your setup in your location, your particular animals, food sources, your plants, substrate, water chemistry, all kinds of variables. There are not that many keepers who have kept brevs successfully too. Sorry you lost it!
