It's always harder to tell from pictures than in person, but I'd say there's a good chance the breeder was telling the truth. As far as breeding projects to verify... just breed her to anything carrying the charcoal gene. Blizzards, pewters, and phantoms (charcoal ghosts) all carry charcoal.
