I think I may try in the near future, but I hate to pay so much for a bulb to run the risk of it getting broken or being a dud and making me angry. I've dropped a few BRAND NEW 5.0 bulbs before ever plugging them in and I never forgave myself since. I've had good success with Reptisun 5.0 bulbs and I'm stickin with them! I don't know where to get a UV meter, but someone was talking about them 2 or 3 weeks ago maybe scan back through the forums you'll find it. Typical florescent Reptisun bulbs do last about 6-9 months I think. I replaced mine recently that were 9 months old. I didn't check them, but they claim they're good for a year if I remember correctly, but never hurts to replace them (besides the wallet). LLLREPTILE is where I get mine from they have the best prices on them I've seen and if you act quick they have a 3 for the price of 2 thing going on for X-Mas. It's $39 for 3 bulbs any size. Also, because of the price being the same, it's smart to use 4 foot bulbs, and run them over the top of a few cages in a row, so you don't need individual lights for each cage. I position my cages in rows on 8 foot tables with 2 light fixtures over the tops of them all. Works great. | ||
