I thought I'd post some data on my super dwarf X Jampea retics now that they have passed the one year mark (as of 12/23/03).

1.0 Length: Sorry folks this is an approximate as these snakes are very hard to get an accurate measurement on: 45 to 47 inches

Weight: 2 lbs 13 oz.



0.1: Length: Approx. 48 to 50 inches

Weight: 3 lbs 10 oz.



These little retics are fed every 3 to 7 days, depending on the size of the meal and have been fed a diet of f/t pinkie rabbits, large ret. breeder mice, small rats, and quail. They are given occasional (once or twice per month) supplements of vitamins and calcium on the rumps of the pinkie rabbits, and are always searching for food!

By way of comparison my 1.0 yellow head retic was 9 feet 1 inch and weighed 15 lbs at one year, and my 1.0 normal retic was 8 feet 3 inches and weighed 14 lbs 4 oz. at one year of age. Both were on the same feeding frequency as the super dwarf X Jampea's. So these snakes are much, much smaller than normal full sized retics at the same age. Plus, these snakes are so fun to work with. Talk about personality and intelligence (for a snake)! Mike Wilbanks, if your reading this, thanks for the great snakes. You breed some top notch animals!
