Have a look at the Iris containers. I bought mine at Office Depot. They are very square, don't have extra edges and stuff inside, the bottoms are flat on the inside and they are clear plastic all around, including the top. A 4-pack of the 5.4 quart size goes for $5. Larger sizes are available.
