There was a girl who posted that you should NEVER handle bearded Dragons, and that you should never put them in water.....
Her reason: They don't really like people, they only associate them with food so tolerate it and there is no one in Australia running around throwing them into water!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She pointed our her dragons do not like to be touched nor near any water, I thought that was so sad... its not that they don't like it, I think more they never had a chance to experience it.
When raising hatchling, rare is the baby that does not enjoy being in some water and floating or swimming, so new hatchlings are great little swimmers and play a game when you try to take them out, whipping their tail and swimming away from my hand.... OH maybe she was right, they don't want handled!!!!
Actually bearded dragons in the wild are seen in lakes, ponds, rivers and even ditches swimming in leisure. They also in the wild enjoy aquatic prey to eat. Here in the US we can not feed them fish due to a bacteria in the fish here that could harm beardies, but it is a part of their natural diet in the wild and I don't think they use little row boats to catch them :D ----- www.reptilerooms.com
