Ok,

I am a bit unsure of how to say this in a way that will not upset someone in some fashion or another. It is January 1 after all so I am going to do a better job of keeping my irritability in check.

See this little link: http://forum.kingsnake.com/shared/tos.html ?

Every person using these forums agreed to abide by the rules of this site when they registered to use the services this website provides. It is not our fault if someone decides to skip over actually reading those silly boring rules and hit the 'agree' button. Ignorance of the rules is not the best excuse to try to use here very often. I do not make the rules, but part of my job is to help enforce them when problems are brought to my attention.

As I have told other people on other forums in the past, I am sorry but there is no third party/friend intervention. There is no 'petitioning' or 'voting' to get someone 'back in' the club (or conversely 'out of' the club). If someone has had their ability to log in, post, or upload on/to the site rescinded, or had posts or images removed, or had their access to chat rooms blocked, then that person needs to email the site coordinator of the appropriate pet hobbyist site and appeal the action - not someone else. Discussion of any actions against a person's account will not be discussed with anyone but the individual themselves and such posts of that nature are regularly removed from the forums.

There is no getting around it. At some point, a line is going to be crossed. We have no policy guaranteeing that anyone will be warned about violations on their account, nor any specific number or type of violations that may result in action against their account. If someone chooses to break the rules and/or they do it often enough then they need to expect to pay the price for their actions. As individuals - every member here - you and only you are responsible for your own actions and what you post - no one else is responsible for what you do or post here. I am concerned mostly with what goes on here on this website. What happens off this website is really not my concern.

If sometimes the enforcement of this website's rules seem a little uneven or spotty to some people at times well then I'm just plain sorry. I am not an omniscient and omnipresent person - I am a human being just like everyone else. I have ~200 forums that I am ultimately responsible for overseeing. Literally several hundred posts are made each day just on kingsnake.com alone. I cannot be everywhere 24/7 to read every single post and spot problems right away and act on them. The other volunteer moderators/hosts that I supervise cannot be everywhere 24/7 to spot problems and act on them. That is why there is an abuse report system in place so that the users of this site can report problems when they see them. When I check my email (at least once a day if not more often) based on those reports I will know where to best start looking first for trouble going on. If the people using these forums do not let us know where the trouble is then I certainly cannot guarantee that either I or another moderator/host will be able to spot it let alone spot it in a timely fashion.

If as a registered member of this site you do not like the rules/policies for this site or hell even if you just do not like the moderators/hosts who work to keep this site clean, then feel free to use the Feedback Form and let the Pet Hobbyist Community Director know of your opinions. To access the feedback form you will be prompted for your username/password.
