I posted a pic of the setup actually in a recent post- naturalistic terrarium. Check it out. Yes, I filled in with calci-sand. I personally think if the geckos are big enough- around 7 inches- that a little calcisand only in their poo-poo place won't hurt , if they're fed mealies in a dish on the slate, supplemented with calcium, they are otherwise healthy, and their other envoironment is non granular. It is true that any granular substance can create some impaction risk, I just think the risk here is negligible- but I am watching the gecko poops to make sure they aren't ingesting the sand. If I saw they were I'd take it out and use something else. But they seem really happy in there, especially at night when they go climbing ----- Sarah Stettler aka Starling
