Here's a pic of one of my tiger sals. They really are fun to keep. They do spend a lot of their time underground, but that's just how they are. And when they do come up, it is a lot of fun to feed them; they really get into it, sometimes leaping at you to get a cricket!
Also, I have found them a great sal for people who have other, more demanding reptiles like snakes. They require little daily labor on the keeper's part, what with being buried a lot of the time. Your main job with these guys is to clean out any visible feces, and change substrate regularly, and water daily.
I prefer to keep my substrate slightly dry, to minimize fruitfly infestations which always occur in my house for some reason.
