It's a bit tall for me as a breeder. Space is valuable. I have one that I use for a display tank for my 9 ft carpets. If you have the room it would be great for beardies. You can give them a nice high perch for basking. lots of room in there. I would say a 100w halogen would work for basking. If your going all out, use a double florecent fixture mounted inside as well. as far as heat from the lights, if you use a vision with a round compartment for the small dome light it can bubble the cage above it (50W light), but that wont hurt it. what you do have to be concerned with is if the light tips and does not sit flat. this can melt the plastic.
