I use a 50W zoo-med basking light plus 18" florecent fixture. Different brand lights produce different heat as do flood vs spot. The bottom cage does not get as hot since there is no heat rising from below it. (those animals usually brumate first). they all have a basking spot about 115. temps vary with the amount of sand and hight of basking spot. Wood chips dont hold the heat as well as the sand. I need a 100W for the cages with wood. ambient temps also will make a difference as will the air flow in the room. | ||
