Why shouldn't your dragon come closer than 18 inches to a mercury vapor bulb? I've got a ZooMed 100 watt PowersunMVB which I use for both UVB and heat and at 18 inches it is not going to put out the heat that I need to raise the basking spot to around 105 degrees. I think my basking spot is around 10 inches from the MVB bulb to get the correct temperature. Is this a cause for concern and if so why?
