now i know this might sound normal to you guys, but to me it is an accomplishment as i think i did my uro a great thing. he was in a home made cage w/ a heat and uvb lamp but it had astroturf for substrate. I thought this was a good setup but he didnt seem active and only moved around in the morning then went under his rock for the rest of the day and night until the next morning. well, i figured i needed to either do something about his home or sell him. i first considered selling, but couldnt find anybody that i knew would take good care of him. and then i just couldnt get rid of him. so yesterday i went and bought a 50 gallon reptile tank and stand, piece of drift wood for him to crawl on, a new basking bulb and dome, and a 8% uvb flourescent. i set it all up last night and checked temps and they were acceptible but still need to be worked on. anyways, i put his food in his cage this morning after he was warmed up, and he normally NEVER goes eat without me showing him the food. to my surprise he RAN to the food and ate it all, so i put him some more. i got home today and he was still up at 2:30 pm, which he is usually under his rock. so i think i did my uro a great favor and have started to handle him more and he is getting used to being held, i will get a pic up of the tank later. sorry so long but it feels good to see him so happy. thanx for your time and help everyone.
