The humidifier is replacing the damp moss you would otherwise place in the hide to increase the humididy. If you did that you would get the same results - a higher humididty in the hide vs. elsewhere in the tank. My setup still maintains approx 60% humidity throughout the tank, it's just higher in the cave which is especially good when my BP goes through a shed.
