I have my single mali in a 40-gallon breeder tank. The blanket on top of the tank helps keep the heat in better when the outside temp fluctuates (there's been a cold snap the entire week). I have him on playsand substrate right now but I will eventually upgrade to a dirt substrate with a top sand layer (just like someone, I can't remember who exactly, on this site did) once the dirt outside thaws and I can find some free stuff (don't want to get in trouble with the police for digging on private property)

I'll also upgrade to a bigger tank once I get enough money.
